But still, what a surprise to learn that tax subsidized PBS has, in the name of reining in childhood obesity, neutered the blue fuzz ball by toning down his Cookie obsession with the admonition that "A Cookie is Sometimes Food" (in song, apparently).
Gen-Xers are outraged and rightly so I suppose. But the much reviled Seasame Street that began life before the term "politically-correct" was coined, has always been exactly that. Politically correct. An alternative and an antidote to the fabulous cartoons produced by Warner Brothers.
That Looney Tunes originated as adult fare and not children's entertainment was completely lost on that era's TV fascists, who insisted that Saturday morning's spent with the likes of Daffy Duck or Yosemite Sam would produce a generation of Natural Born Killers.
So, really, it should be no surprise in an era of McFat lawsuits that Old Blue Fuzz has been put on a diet by Amerikka's first generation of politcally correct junkies.
