  • The focus is red wine and to get right to it without distraction, click The Wine Commonsewer Speaks. The rest of the enchilada is just enough of an eclectic mix of commentary on culture, food, tax, and econ 101 to distract from the focus on red wine.

    We appreciate your patronage.

Missile Launch

Good Morning Gentle Readers:

Caught this cool vapor trail last night just after sun down. The city lights are from Corona California and the view is due west. The rocket was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base and was a four stage Minotaur carrying a DARPA Streak technology demonstration satellite. The spectacular show was visible across the southwestern US and Mexico.

I was offshore, but Siriporn told me all about what she saw, when I got back late last night. When I was working at Kwajalein Missile Range in the Marshall Islands, I used to observe many events such as that one.
