I don't put a lot of faith in politicians or the government to do the right thing but this time there may be a chance. If you act quickly, and it may already be too late, we may be able to make enough noise about that idiotic Supreme Court decision in Kelo to change things. That's what this bill is all about, reforming eminent domain abuse.
At this very moment, Congress is debating the Private Property Rights Protection Act (H.R. 4128). A series of amendments will be proposed, and many of them attempt to weaken or eliminate the vital protections the bill provides. A statement on those amendments can be found below. Please call your Congressperson RIGHT NOW and let him or her know that you OPPOSE these amendments.
The vote may have already taken place but in case it has not, please jump on this. And even if it has taken place, please let your reps know how you feel about it anyway.
You can find easy to use contact information here as well as clear and uncluttered information about the bill and the amendments that will neuter it.
As Ever, TWC

That Kelo 'discussion' is going on right now on CSPAN. Interesting, since it goes right to the heart of 'rights'. And some are shamelessly supporting cities over individuals - truly enlightening to hear it outright.
