Turns out that Jake has the entrepreneurial spirit. He's been selling small animal skulls to his friends at school. One dollar apiece. Yes, rats, squirrels, maybe gophers, only the Almighty has a clue as to what some of those things are. I guess he's raiding the Eagle and Hawk graveyards (the birds tend to eat the prey in the same places thus leaving a pile of bones something like the renowned elephant graveyards of Africa) scattered among the big rocks around Casa de las Rocas Grande in what passes for caves in the wilds of So Cal.
His prized possession is a nearly intact coyote skull. After soaking it in bleach water overnight we accidentally lost some of the teeth down the garbage disposal while rinsing it clean. Quality time, man, fishing coyote teeth out of the drain with your nine year old son.
