Google muscled in on the Global Warming debate today, and as long time readers know, TWC did too. It is long standing Earth Day tradition here at Casa de las Rocas Grande to fire up the big, fat Chrysler Vee-8.
Like many in the environmentalist movement, the folks at Google are more than happy to avail themselves of the very technology often decried as earth unfriendly. From electricity to automobiles, dedication to principle extends no further than personal comfort dictates.
Most live in cities and suburbs where every last remnant of native species has been safely bulldozed and paved over, while whining that my neighbors might disturb the mating habits of the local fly population by building a home.
And yes, I appreciate that we live in a complex modern culture that makes it difficult to get back to nature. However, I don't particularly want to live in the Stone Age and lots of those guys seem to want company on the road trip to Bedrock.
That isn't to say there aren't problems, TWC's pet screech is Californicate's propensity (read: the government's propensity) to yank every trace of green from every riparian environment, channelize what's left, and then pave it all with concrete. That would be the same government that y'all want to solve your environmental heartaches. There's a lesson here.
