Good Morning Gentle Readers,
A quickie wine review today courtesy of the Kosmik Kid.
Heeeeeerrrrssss Kos! Please hear that in an Ed McMahon voice.
I drank the best pinot I ever tasted last night. It's the 2004 Lost Canyon Los Caneros/Las Brisas Vineyard. Ben, the proprietor of Mt. Airy Liquors, put this $40 Pinot on sale for just $17.97 to entice his customers to try it. Tomorrow I'm going back to buy out whatever he has left. Less than 230 cases made, but if they're consistent year-to-year this is a winery to keep in mind.

From the winery.....
This wine comes from the Las Brisas Vineyard located in the Los Carneros appellation. We have worked closely with Francis Mahoney, the owner, to select two clones from more than 10 planted in the vineyard. We chose Dijon 115 and UCD 18 and they provide this wine with a ruby red color, light berry/cherry notes and a hint of spice and mint. This wine is very well balanced with just the right hints of oak.
A little background on the Los Caneros Pinot's and the Dijon clone here.
TWC wishes to thank The Kos for his appearance here today.
