Torres Garnacha is a nice light wine that's perfect for a hot afternoon picnic under the trees or on the pool deck. Keep it in the cooler until poured, this one is better on the chilly side.
Mollydooker's Two Left Feet will be perfect for the grilled steaks Dave plans for the 4th of July. It is a great big wine from South Australia.
Deep purple in the glass, this complex and aromatic wine exhibits all the best characteristics of its ingredients. Parker lavished a well earned 94 points on this intensely opulent creation that features black cherry, blackberry, plum, vanilla, a little spice, and a nice long finish.
This is, unquestionably, the best Aussie wine TWC has had to date. Better yet, you should be able to find this for around twenty bucks U.S.
Food Pairings? Well, Crocodile, Snake, Emu, Wallaby Cheese, and Kangaroo are suggested at the website. I'd say this wine is pretty versatile and will go well with anything. Or nothing.
Neither of these is American. That's problematic if you're a patriot and drinking wine on the 4th of July.
Here are some other suggestions for that steak:
2003 St Francis Cabernet. You'll not be disappointed.
2002 Franciscan Magnificat. I haven't reviewed this but it is a wonderful Meritage from the same folks who do Franciscan Merlot and Franciscan Cabernet, either of which is generally delightful. Although one vintage or another may be better, any of the recent vintages will prove enjoyable.
