In Vino Veritas

  • The focus is red wine and to get right to it without distraction, click The Wine Commonsewer Speaks. The rest of the enchilada is just enough of an eclectic mix of commentary on culture, food, tax, and econ 101 to distract from the focus on red wine.

    We appreciate your patronage.

I love old metal signs like that. The rustier the better. I have a few on the exposed brick walls in my kitchen.

I love Roadside Americana, which is our common cultural history. I have collected some of it over the years, and it is getting harder to find. One of my favorites is this

That is a great sign. Hmmmm....you may have inspired me. I think I'm going to head down to the delta and hit some junk stores this week.

Cute kiddo you've got there :)

Thanks, that's the House Blond. She is my Renaissance Girl.

While you're down there looking for signs if you see anything really cool.......

I've got some soda pop clocks as well. Those are my first love. I never knew I had a fixation for clocks (even though it was obvious to everyone else) until like 15 years ago. I like them all, but soda pop clocks are the best. I've got a dozen or so, some are a little ratty but a couple are pristine. The golden era of clocks was post war through the late sixties. After that, they started making them out of plastic.
