Brian guest blogs for TWC today......
This wine gets better than average marks from most. I find it far worse.
I will forgo the plastic cork argument. The pour was weak, the nose wasn't, and the finish was Welch's all over. We gave it a Glass-Of-A-Chance then jammed the cork back in. At 14% alcohol, the only pleasure I got out of this wine was a buzz. The remainder will find its way into the marinara sauce, or maybe Squirrel Stew.
Editors Note: Major Yum? Jesus Chrysler. The thing in your mouth?
This is an ample illustration of the TWC principle that the quality of the wine is inversely proportional to the cool factor of the label. Sort of. At least you could use it in the sauce. Speaking of which wasn't it Julia Childs who said you shouldn't cook with wine you won't drink? Not sure. One of my Fairy Godmothers told me that.
The Wine Commonsewer wishes to thank Brian for his appearance here today.
