The focus is red wine and to get right to it without distraction, click The Wine Commonsewer Speaks. The rest of the enchilada is just enough of an
eclectic mix of commentary on culture, food, tax, and econ 101 to
distract from the focus on red wine.

I’m never happy to see Christmas pass; it makes all the decorations and holiday gear suddenly seem sad and out of date. It shouldn’t be so, as we are celebrating The Season, and that lasts beyond The Day, right? But we all know better. Santa is a symbol of hope and delight on Dec. 23rd; on the 26th he’s heaped in clearance bins. Even his most fervent constituency, children, has moved on.

Agreed, TWC. Our thoughts are somewhat parallel today. I like the idea of a holiday season that actually aligns with when everyone is off work and businesses are slowed down, instead of when one can't enjoy it at home, but has to be rushed and at the office.
Looks like the fat, gray cat lost his hat. Oh well, he didn't look too happy wearing it in that photo the other day. In fact, his expression appeared similar to that of Jack Benny at times.
