Good Morning Gentle Readers,
Yes, that's a repeat of about three years (or more) running. And guess what? The war ain't over. Just today I got a Christmas card from a nephew. Guess where it came from? Iraq. He and his lovely bride are both over there.
Back in the day you joined the National Guard to stay out of the war. Now, the war is so all encompassing that the National Guard is over there too.
The older I get the more I realize the futility of sending your kids off to war. Korea. We're still there. Been there my whole life (and I'm older than dirt). Viet Nam? Big success. Iraq? Afghanistan? How long does it take to subdue a country the size of So Cal?
Here's a heads up: Patton isn't running this war and we are up a creek without a paddle. The way things are going, in just a few years they'll be drafting my kids to send them off to war. That ain't gonna fly.
