Good Morning Gentle Readers,
Y'all know that TWC keeps to the code. Harry Waugh put it this way.....
It's a wine's duty to be red.
Christopher Hitchens was a bit more emphatic.....
Wine. Is. Red.
However, some Gentle Readers occasionally indulge in the sin of the white and since you, Gentle Readers, are always in my thoughts I was intrigued when I saw this at Wine Harlots.
Sierra Madre Vineyard Chardonnay 2007 is the best chardonnay made in America. Wine Harlots might be prone to hyperbole or mistaken identity — but not this time. My vision is 20/20 on this one. There’s gold in them there hills. This is the treasure of Sierra Madre.
This observation takes on even more significance when you realize the Harlot isn't all that fond of chardonnay in the first place.....
It’s not such a well-kept secret that I’m not a great fan of chardonnay. I shudder internally when I’m offered chardonnay. When it’s great, it’s fantastic; but most chards are substandard over-oaked messes.
Whole thing here.
