Good Morning Gentle Readers,
Wine Styles Brea is a great venue presided over by John Howard, our host for an Italian sort of afternoon of good wine and good company.

There is something decadent and indulgent about sipping wine in the afternoon. Even better? John was the consummate host, ever attentive to the empty glass and even arranging a late lunch from one of the local eateries.

The 2007 Sunset Ridge Petite Sirah was tasty and later TWC sampled an excellent Red Head Ranch Zinfandel. Bought a bottle on the spot. Had to delete all the joke lines that went with this because the ABC Board doesn't have a sense of humor.

The 2007 SRV Petite Sirah is almost a full bodied wine. It is exceptionally smooth and well balanced with hints of blueberry, blackberry, black cherry, and a noticeable oak component on the finish. It isn't fumey nor is it especially tannic.
The wine is very good now and will drink well for the next five or six years.
This wine is sturdy. Serve it with salt crusted standing rib roast, grilled filet mignon, or a hearty pasta with spicy Italian sausages.
