There are entire streets in So Cal that are lined on both sides with these beautiful trees. When they come into bloom sometimes people refer to it as Jacaranda Season.
Just left of the flower is a seed pod. When the seed pod opens it looks like a tiny little shark mouth with the seeds standing in as teeth.
Here at Casa de las Rocas Grandes, we are at the edge of the comfort zone for these mild climate trees. Jacarandas are native to Brazil. The leaves are beautiful green, lacy and fern-like.
