Good Morning Gentle Readers,
Hey! The Lakers won! I know, let's set a car on fire to celebrate.
Good friend of mine wasn't so delighted that the Lakers won. She said.....
Rollin' down Imperial Highway
.....big nasty redhead at my side
One summer night, back in the days of my vagrant and wholly misspent yoot, several of us guys decided it would be loads of fun to drive the entire length of Imperial Highway, east to west.
It took us *forever*. I think Miltie was along for the ride. He visually aged. Doug, who captained a pristine 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS, really shoulda brought a razor along for the trip. It took us so long that we had to drive in shifts.
At the time, I am pretty sure that Imperial Highway was the longest street in the US. Maybe just California. I dunno. It began in the orange groves off of Santa Ana Canyon Rd (now Anaheim Hills) and dead ended into PCH at the beach near LAX some 45 miles and an untold number of red lights later.
