Good Morning Gentle Readers,
TWC skipped the funeral on Tuesday. Lots of good reasons, er, ah excuses this time. The Tusconians were in town. Getting ready for the 4th. Client in hot water with the Great State of Californicate. Boat needed some dam thing (always does). In the end, though, y'all know I don't do funerals. But, I promised Miltie that if he swung by the Casa on his way back from paying his respects, that I'd open something yummie.
Somethin' yummie turned out to be a '99 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon. Wonderful aroma. The wine is rich, smooth, and lingers on the palate. Winemaker Rob Davis elaborates below.
And the three of us, Miltie in his high dollar suit, me in my cargo shorts, and Mrs TWC shared a spill of wine. Soon enough the bottle was empty. You know it's a good wine when the bottle is gone and you wish it wasn't so.
Winemaker's Notes:
The 1999 vintage marks the first harvest of our hillside vineyards. Grapes from these higher elevations produce complex flavors, lower yields, and enhanced structure for aging. Over a decade later, this lustrous wine reveals black cherry, chocolate, cedar and vanilla with supple tannin. Drink now or hold up to 2014 for peak maturity. We recommend decanting for 30 minutes.
Truly a lovely wine.
