Good Morning Gentle Readers,
Just got a note from Benito congratulating TWC on surviving the blog business for four years. His note reminded me that I forgot about bringing that bit of gratuitous self-promotion up back in January when we began our fifth year of publication.
Blogging is self-indulgent and narcissistic, but it keeps me out of the bars. Cash money? Better keep your day job, Junior. There is the occasional bottle of wine, a little bit of name recognition, and the lovely emails that you, Gentle Reader, send my way, which are very much appreciated (comments too).
TWC began life in the late nineties as an almost-daily email newsletter. It was billed as the world's longest running floating website. That's something like a floating crap game, which never has a real home. It wasn't really a website, but the newsletter sort of took the format of what came to be known as a weblog. Eventually, the spammers and the anti-spam software took it's toll on the email version and in January 2005 TWC moved to the blog format which evolved into what you see today.
Many thanks to all of you for your time, your comments, your emails, your encouragement, and your friendship. As long as it's still fun, I'll still do it.
Salud!
As Ever,
The Wine Commonsewer
