The Economic Stimulus Payment (Tax Rebate)

Good Morning Gentle Readers,

If you are eligible to receive GWB's retroactive tax cut, the drop dead filing deadline for 2007 income tax returns is October 15 December 31, 2008.

One minute late and you lose.

Word of Caution: The language I read indicates that the IRS will continue to process and issue rebate checks through December 31, 2008. I would not count on a December 31, 2008 postmark to ensure a rebate check falls through the mail slot sometime in mid-January. Doesn't mean it won't happen, but it is better to be safe than ugly.

Consider certified mail just in case the USPS loses your return. Postmark is everything.
