GOD, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
As a vagrant yoot, I couldn't quite grasp the concept that underlay the words. Once I got me some wisdom, it made more sense.

Good Morning Gentle Readers,
Sunday was Father's Day. To celebrate, The Boy and several of his friends took us dads shooting. The spot where they like to shoot is a few miles out in the hills and is also where they sometimes gather for late night bonfires under the stars.
It ain't that easy to find. The trick is to avoid the dozen wrong dirt tracks and roads. The road you want doesn't really look right. It's a dusty, serpentine road that was hacked out of the hillside. It winds down to the creek bottom where you ford the creek with no name, swing up, and make a hard left. From there it's maybe a quarter mile to the sweet spot shaded by large oak trees along the creek. 4WD is definitely recommended.
Except, on Sunday morning the creek was empty. TWC has lived out this way for almost two decades and I can't ever recall there not being water in No Name Creek. Jacob told me it was down to a trickle when he drove out to meet his friends on Friday night. Apparently, the creek passed away sometime Saturday.
Contrast that to the creek's normal level last August when I walked out there early one morning with the dogs. The dogs love to get a drink and cool off in the creek.
